History … It was planned to dismantle Taj Mahal …

Lord William Bentinck, (governor general of Bengal 1828-33, and later first governor general of all India), went to announce plans to demolish the best Moghul monuments in Agra and Delhi and remove their marble facades. These were to be shipped to London, where they would be broken up and sold to members of the British aristocracy. Several of Shahjahan’s pavilions in the Red Fort at Delhi were indeed stripped to the brick, and the marble was shipped off to England (part of this shipment included pieces for King George IV himself). Plans to dismantle the Taj Mahal were in place, and wrecking machinery was moved into the garden grounds. Just as the demolition work was to begin, news from London indicated that the first auction had not been a success, and that all further sales were cancelled — it would not be worth the money to tear down the Taj Mahal.

Thus the Taj Mahal … the symbol of love … was spared and remained alive on the face of the earth.

I profess the religion of love …

I profess the religion of love
Love is my religion and faith
My mother is love
My father is love
My prophet is love
My God is love
I am a child of love
I have come only to speak of love.

You can’t live a perfect day without …

Buddha said “Teach this triple truth to all: A generous heart, kind speech, and a life of service and compassion are the things which renew humanity.”
John Wooden said: “You can’t live a perfect day without doing something for someone who will never be able to repay you.”

A short story …

A woman came out of her house and saw 3 old men with long white beards sitting in her front yard. She did not recognize them.

She said “I don’t think I know you, but you must be hungry. Please come in and have something to eat.”

“Is the man of the house home?”, they asked.

“No”, she said. “He’s out.”

“Then we cannot come in”, they replied.

In the evening when her husband came home, she told him what had happened. “Go tell them I am home and invite them in!”

The woman went out and invited the men in.

“We do not go into a House together,” they replied.

“Why is that?” she wanted to know.

One of the old men explained: “His name is Wealth,” he said pointing to one of his friends, and said pointing to another one, “He is Success, and I am Love.” Then he added, “Now go in and discuss with your husband which one of us you want in your home.”

The woman went in and told her husband what was said. Her husband was overjoyed. “How nice!!”, he said. “Since that is the case, let us invite Wealth. Let him come and fill our home with wealth!”

His wife disagreed. “My dear, why don’t we invite Success?”

Their daughter-in-law was listening from the other corner of the house. She jumped in with her own suggestion: “Would it not be better to invite Love? Our home will then be filled with love!”

“Let us heed our daughter-in-law’s advice,” said the husband to his wife. “Go out and invite Love to be our guest.”

The woman went out and asked the 3 old men, “Which one of you is Love? Please come in and be our guest”

Love got up and started walking toward the house. The other 2 also got up and followed him. Surprised, the lady asked Wealth and Success, “I only invited Love, Why are you coming in?”

The old men replied together: “If you had invited Wealth or Success, the other two of us would’ve stayed out, but since you invited Love, wherever He goes, we go with him. Wherever there is Love, there is also Wealth and Success!!!!!!”

Let me salute to ambassadors of love!

Make God your companion …

If you make greatness your companion,
You may suffer.
If you make goodness your companion,
You will not only prosper
But you will also have God
As your Companion.

Whosoever knows himself well knows his Maker

These are the words of Hazrat Ali (Razi Allah Anhu) and so there is no doubt in their being true. In fact, the path to find God passes through our own selves. As it is rightly said, ‘mun aa ra fa nafsuhu, fa qad aa ra fa Rabbu hu’. But to reach God, we have to grasp and use the same ray of spirit which God instilled in all of us when He created us in Alam e Arwa.

Save me! I am your homeland … Pak Sir Zameen!

Since 63 years, I have been crying and begging your help. I came into existence on account of your forefathers’ sacrifices. Today, my own people are selling me to my own enemy. They are more worried about cricket matches than my life. On 31 August, 2009, around 700 American marines stepped into my heart Islamabad. My own people sold some 18 acre land to them. Number of my enemies is increasing rapidly. Help me out before my politicians sell me out. I am your beloved homeland. ‘Jago aur Jagao, Apnay Watan ko Bacaho.’

Love, not logic, is the guiding principle of life

‘We do what we like to do and not what is reasonable or rationally or mathematically correct. Love and not logic is the guiding principle of our life. The urge of human life is love or the feeling of beauty. Intellect cannot become an urge because it cannot feel or know beauty. A scientist can tell us how sound is produced but he cannot tell us why a symphony is beautiful. He can calculate exactly the area covered by a picture, can explain what  part is played by the rays of light, the retina, the optical nerve or the brain in observing it, or enumerate to the minutest details the shades of colours use in it but he cannot say in what does the beauty of the picture consist. He may himself feel its beauty but he cannot demonstrate it logically or scientifically. The knowledge of beauty is open to feeling alone. It is outside the approach of rationality.’
