Riaz applied for a new job, but as his self-esteem was low, he had already considered himself as a failure and he was sure that he will be rejected by the selection committee. He had a negative attitude towards himself, and believed that the other applicants were better and more qualified than him. Riaz took on this attitude, due to his negative past experiences with job interviews.

His mind was filled with negative thoughts and fears regarding the job for the whole week before the job interview. He was sure he would be rejected. On the day of the interview he got up late. Further he was shocked to see that the shirt he had planned to wear was dirty, and the other one needed ironing. As he had not much time, he went out wearing a shirt full of wrinkles.

During the interview he was tense, displayed a negative attitude, worried about his shirt, and felt hungry because he had not have ample breakfast. All this distracted his mind and made it difficult for him to focus on the interview. His overall performance in the interview did not make a good impression on the minds of the interviewers, and consequently he materialized his fear and did not get the job.

Ahmed applied for the same job too, but approached the matter in a different way. He was sure that he was going to get the job. During the week preceding the interview he often visualized himself making a good impression and getting the job.

In the evening before the interview he prepared the clothes he was going to wear, and went to sleep a little earlier. On day of the interview he woke up earlier than usual, and had ample time to eat breakfast, and then to arrive to the interview before the scheduled time.

He got the job because he made a good impression. He had also of course, the proper qualifications for the job, but so had Riaz.

What do we learn from these two stories? Is there any magic employed here? No, it is all natural. If you expect positive, you have positive and vice versa. We through our thoughts are constantly attracting people, events and circumstances which match our signals (thoughts).

I was tied by the Khmer Rouge soldier, during the period when my country was taken over by the Khmer Rouge Regime (Killing Field).They tied me with another people with the small plastic string which they accused me of stealing from the potatoes at the plantation. Yes! That’s right I stole it because I hadn’t had food to eat for more than 5 days, how can I live without food?…

One man was killed by the small khmer rouge soldier with the knife… a moment later it’d be my turn… oh my God!

I was so scared that I couldn’t pray or ask anybody to help me, but I only thought in positive that I would not die at that time.

“Stop killing him!” A voice loud enough to hear…

He is the khmer rouge soldier leader, also my uncle too.

I live until today with the positive thought all the time even when I meet a lot of negative stories in my life.

I still remember that “Every coins has two faces”. Life too, Positive and Negative. Why don’t we choose Positive Thinking instead of Negative.

When the gun was pointed to my head during that time, I still thought in Positive, “I will not die at this time”.

Not 100 percent of the Positive Thinking lead my life till today, but I can say 95% of Positive Thinking helps me all the time.

A true story narrated by Narin from Cambodia

Once upon a time, there was a wise man who used to go to the ocean to do his writing. He had a habit of walking on the beach before he began his work. One day, as he was walking along the shore, he looked down the beach and saw a human figure moving like a dancer. He smiled to himself at the thought of someone who would dance to the day, and so, he walked faster to catch up. As he got closer, he noticed that the figure was that of a young man, and that what he was doing was not dancing at all. The young man was reaching down to the shore, picking up small objects, and throwing them into the ocean. He came closer still and called out “Good morning! May I ask what it is that you are doing?”

The young man paused, looked up, and replied “Throwing starfish into the ocean.”

“I must ask, then, why are you throwing starfish into the ocean?” asked the somewhat startled wise man.

To this, the young man replied, “The sun is up and the tide is going out. If I don’t throw them in, they’ll die.” Upon hearing this, the wise man commented, “But, young man, do you not realize that there are miles and miles of beach and there are starfish all along every mile? You can’t possibly make a difference!”

At this, the young man bent down, picked up yet another starfish, and threw it into the ocean. As it met the water, he said, “It made a difference for that one.”

Yes, its difficult to celebrate one’s failure. When you fail, you become very depressed. You feel blue. I know that state of mind. Many negative thoughts come into your mind. You look for a way to escape but dont find. You look for a friend to share your grief. You become dishearted. It all happens. I know it. Because this is what is happening to me. Alas! sometimes it seems how helpless the man is. Today I was going to invigorate someone but see the pace of fate, I myself have become overwhelmed by the grief of failure.

A man is known by the company he keeps and also by the company from which he is kept out? No one likes a man with bad habits. If one fails in getting in a group of people, it means either he is good and group is bad or it does mean that he is bad and group is not ready to accept him. Psychatrists rightly say that if you want achieve success, you should try to be a part of successful people, join their company, think like them, act like them, listen about them, read about them. They will give you energy, passion, zeal and power and a day will come when you will also become successful.

One of my favourite students, has sent me this beautiful sms today which I am giving here with some slight alteration. She has mentioned some ways which would help you earn ’swab’ (blessings) after death.

1- Give a copy of Holy book to someone. Each time they read, you gain.
2- Donate a wheel chair to a hospital, each time any sick person uses it, you will gain.
3- Teach someone a word of wisdom, or how to read, write or learn anything. Its also ‘Sadqa Jaria’.
4- Place water cooler on public place so that people may benefit from it.
5- Participate in the construction of a masjid, school, college, hospital etc.
6- Plant a tree and whenever any one uses its shade or fruit, you will gain.
7- Serve your parents. (Its a source of great and continuous blessings)
8- Bring up your children and help them be a good human being. Whatever they will do good in their lives, you will be blessed by the God, here as well as in the hereafter.

Let me add here, that there are countless ways which can help you earn more and more blessings of God. And I strongly believe in the Law of Attraction, by which you get what what you give out. Give love and you will be loved. Spread happiness and the world will do its utmost to keep you happy. Serve others and the world will be at your service, and vice versa. This is very simple and this is one of the many laws of nature.
