Only buses stop here. Not your time, so …

A friend told me he had read this message written on a Japanese bus stop: ‘Only buses stop here. Not your time. So keep walking towards your goal’. I would even add some more words to this worthy statement. As it is rightly said, ‘Nothing in this world is constant except change’. Every thing is on a move. So if a thing stops, he no more survives in the scheme of this universe. Only those succeed who not only keep moving but also keep up with the pace of those who are succeeding. Success is a journey, not a destination. Keep moving, keep making progress. Keep upgrading yourself, your skills, your personality and your success is guaranteed.

The story of 4 wives of a merchant …

There was a rich merchant who had 4 wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and took great care of her and gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much. He’s very proud of her and always wanted to show off her to his friends. However, the merchant is always in great fear that she might run away with some other men.

He loved his 2nd wife too. She is a very considerate person, always patient and in fact is the merchant’s confidante. Whenever the merchant faced some problems, he always turned to his 2nd wife and she would always help him out in difficult times.

Now, the merchant’s 1st wife is a very loyal partner and has made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and business as well as taking care of the household. However, the merchant did not love the first wife and although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her.

One day, the merchant fell ill. Before long, he knew that he was going to die soon. He thought of his luxurious life and told himself, “Now I have 4 wives with me. But when I die, I’ll be alone. How lonely I’ll be!”

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, “I loved you most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and accompany me?” “No way!” replied the 4th wife and she walked away without another word.

The answer cut like a sharp knife right into the merchant’s heart. The sad merchant then asked the 3rd wife, “I have loved you so much for all my life. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and accompany me?” “No!” replied the 3rd wife. “Life is so good over here! I’m going to remarry when you die!” The merchant’s heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, “I always turned to you for help and you’ve always helped me out. Now I need your help again. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?” “I’m sorry, though I am very sad that you are going away. But I can’t help you out this time!” replied the 2nd wife. “At the very most, I can only send you to your grave.” The answer came like a bolt of thunder and the merchant was devastated.

Then a voice called out : “I’ll leave with you. I’ll follow you no matter where you go.” The merchant looked up and there was his first wife. She was so skinny, almost like she suffered from malnutrition. Greatly grieved, the merchant said, “I should have taken much better care of you while I could have !”

Actually, we all have 4 wives in our lives

a. The 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it’ll leave us when we die.

b. Our 3rd wife ? Our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, they all go to others.

c. The 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how close they had been there for us when we’re alive, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

d. The 1st wife is in fact our soul, often neglected in our pursuit of material, wealth and sensual pleasure.

Guess what? It is actually the only thing that follows us wherever we go. Perhaps it’s a good idea to cultivate and strengthen it now rather than to wait until we’re on our deathbed to lament …

Eid-Ul-Adha Mubarik! Lets vow to sacrifice …

“The celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha is in commemoration of the command given by Allah to Prophet Abraham (may Allah be pleased with him) to sacrifice his first born son Ishmael to Him. The fulfilment of this noble command of Allah by Abraham signifies his faith in Allah….” And this proves that Prophet Abraham loved Allah more than anything else. He was even ready to sacrifice his son in the way of Allah. This gives a clear message to us. We should learn this trait of sacrifice from him and should try to practice it in most matters of our day to day lives.

Hajj — a spirit of universal brotherhood and sisterhood to worship the One God together

Eid-Ul-Adha (the Feast of Sacrifice or Day of Sacrifice) is observed after the Hajj — the annual pilgrimage to Makkah (Mecca) in Saudi Arabia.

Its a duty of each Muslim, as described in the Five Pillars of Islam, to go on Hajj at least once during their lifetime, unless they are prevented by finances or ill health. “The Hajj consists of several ceremonies, meant to symbolize the essential concepts of the Islamic faith, and to commemorate the trials of prophet Abraham and his family…The pilgrimage also enables Muslims from all around the world, of different colors, languages, races, and ethnicities, to come together in a spirit of universal brotherhood and sisterhood to worship the One God together.”

Dawn is about to break! Tell the heart …

ye-zid-ha-yad-e-hareefan-e-bada-e-pima-kiThis is their obduracy, these enemies of wine and cup … let there be no moon by night, no cloud by day. The breeze has knocked at the prison door again: dawn is about to break, tell the heart not to feel so restive.

Its not miracles that generate faith but faith that make miracles …

All miracles are a result of faith. Faith in God and faith in yourself. Man is a personification of great potential that lies inside. But the key to use this potential is faith.

Fun is fruitful to health! Ha ha ha …

A little innocent girl asked her mother, “How did the human race start?”
The mother answered, “God made Adam and Hawwa and they had children, and so the race of mankind start..”

The little girl, however, still had some ambiguity. So she asked her father the same question two days later … The father answered, “Many years ago, there were monkeys from which the human race evolved.”

The confused girl returned to her mother and said, “Mom, how is it possible that the human race was created by GodĀ  as you told, and Dad said they developed from monkeys?”

The mother answered, “Well, dear, it’s very simple. I told you about my side of the family and your father told you about his.” Ha ha ha …

A short story with a moral lesson for professionals …

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, “Can I also sit like you and do nothing?”

The eagle answered, “Sure , why not.”

So the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested.
All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

At the rate of 60 minutes an hour …

C. S. Lewis said about the importance of time, ‘The future is something which everyone reaches at the rate of 60 minutes an hour, whatever he does, whoever he is.’ He said very right that your success and future all depends upon what you are doing with your 60 minutes of every hour, the time which you has beenĀ  bestowed upon you. Either you are killing the time or time is killing you.

Dream without work is day-dreaming and …

Dream without work is day-dreaming and work without a dream (vision) is like a nightmare. Jim Dietz rightly said, ‘As long as you put in the work, you can own the dream. When the work stops, the dream disappears.’
